NASC Summer Leadership Workshops
"My first year at workshop was my freshman year, and I learned so much about all aspects of myself. I learned how important it is to respect others, their views, culture, and personalities. I also met the most amazing people and they impacted the way I live today... those were the best 5 days of my summer."
-Sabrina DeSandro, Omaha North High School
Workshop 2010: July 27-31, 2010. Wayne State College.
If you're a student leader in Nebraska (or would like to be) you can't miss the NASC Summer Leadership Workshops! Workshop brings leaders from across the state together in Wayne, NE, for 5 days of leadership development, networking and fun. We have three different Workshops, all held on the same dates and at the same place, so choose yours based on what grade you're in:
For those entering grades 6-8 in the fall, JAM (Junior and Middle School Leadership Workshop) prepares students to be leaders in their middle schools, high schools and beyond with an exciting, hands-on curriculum. Click on "JAM" on the left to learn more.
ALW (Advanced Leadership Workshop) is for students who have attended a Workshop before and will be seniors in the fall. ALW's community-focused, rigorous curriculum equips students for life after high school, while teaching them how to make the most of their senior year. Click on "Advanced Leadership" on the left to learn more.
The Summer Leadership Workshop (SLW) is for senior high students (those entering grades 9-12 in the fall). Students work in small groups (called "co-ops") and large groups, focusing on seven leadership skill tracks. The curriculum is fun, interactive, and definitely hands-on. You'll learn about leadership by experiencing it. And you'll engage with students from across the state in NASC's biggest, most exciting event of the year. You can learn more by downloading the brochure below.
If you have any questions about NASC Workshops, please e-mail Workshop Director Charlie Stephan at workshop@nasc.org or by calling 402-570-0951.

One-Day Workshops
One-Day Workshops are conducted throughout the year by members of the Volunteer Staff--the same people who plan and conduct the Summer Leadership Workshops. Like the summer workshops, they feature fun, experiential activities designed to challenge students to think about leadership in new ways. Unlike Summer Workshop, however, they are planned and conducted specifically for your group.
The focus is on helping your group work together more effectively as a team.
If your group is interested in having Volunteer Staff members come do a One-Day Workshop at your school, send an email with preferred dates and any special needs to onedays@nasc.org. To ensure that we can line up volunteers for your preferred date, please give us as much advance notice as possible.
