North Platte Student Council did an incredible job hosting the state convention for 2024! North Platte is a powerhouse of a student council and jumped straight into their annual canned food drive immediately after the convention. NPHS is killing the stuco game!

State Convention 2024: A Day of Leadership and Inspiration

On October 26th, North Platte High School hosted the 2024 NASC State Convention, welcoming nearly 300 students and advisors eager to grow as leaders.

The day began with an inspiring recap from the State Executive Board, followed by introductions to the new Executive Board candidates. Setting the tone for the day, Nebraska Native, Mike Smith from Skate For Change and CEO of The Bay, took the stage sharing his powerful story about breaking barriers and defining personal success.

Delegates then participated in small-group idea-sharing sessions, bringing together students from diverse schools to exchange insights and inspiration. The event continued with a hands-on State Service Project, where councils organized hygiene items they had collected for Nebraska’s Foster Care Closet. Delegates also attended region meetings to elect their Region Boards.

Afternoon activities featured a variety of mini-sessions, offering topics ranging from leadership development to agricultural education. The day concluded with a celebration of schools that excelled in raising donations for Make-A-Wish, recognizing their incredible efforts. Finally, our 2023-24 Executive Board (President- Kasch Faustman, Vice President- Molly Kaldahl, and Secretary- Tuesday Allen) swore in the new executive board.

State Convention 2024 was truly a memorable event, filled with learning, collaboration, and leadership growth.

Congratulations to all of the new Executive Board and Region Board Officers! You can find all of their information in the 'About Us' > 'Board Directory' page.
